Stocking Stuffers for Runners

November 12, 2021 by Lisa Kenyon Leave a Comment

If you’re looking for gifts for the runners in your life, you’ve come to the right place. You can check out my comprehensive list of holiday gifts here, which range from big gestures to small gifts for all. That list is great but I thought ” hey, maybe the people want stocking stuffer ideas too!”

Maybe you’ve got the holiday gift game all planned out (if so you’re way ahead of me) but still need a little something extra. This list is for you.

Nutrition/Fuel

Runners spend a small fortune on nutrition, fuel, and other supplements. Adding a few packets to their stockings will always be appreciated. Tailwind, Maurten, Honey Stingers, and Nuun are some personal favorites. You can order online or find them at many local sporting goods stores.

Socks

Runners can always use socks! Compression socks, sleeves, or really good running socks are sure to please!

Road ID

Nothing says “I care” like a gift to keep your runner safe. I never go for a run without my Road ID. It contains emergency contact information, allergies, etc so that in the unfortunate event you need help, someone knows who you are and who to call. You can get a couple different varieties, but I like the one that attaches to my watch so I don’t even have to think about it or risk forgetting it.

Sunglasses

Runners spend a lot of time sweating in the sun, so these are always appreciated. Any good sports sunglasses are sure to please, but I like Goodr because they are lightweight, stay put, and are affordable. I learned long ago, that I just can’t spend big money on shades, I’m too rough on them. 🙂

Chafe and Blister Protection

How could anyone NOT want to be protected from chafing and blisters, right? There are TONS of products out there that are easy to toss in a stocking!

KT Tape

Surely you’ve seen a runner out there with that multicolored tape all over them, keeping things together. Kinesiology Therapeutic (KT) Tape is used by so many because it can be used to support, relieve pain, and even assist in recovery. If you use it every run though, it adds up! Toss a few rolls in your favorite runners gift bag.

About Me

Hi. I’m Lisa and I run. Growing up, I was the kid who refused to run the mile in gym class.  Then, at some point in my mid twenties (I won’t say how long ago that was) I began to care about my body and how I treated it. I started running because I could do it on my own, no gym membership, no judgement. Once I got a taste of what my body and mind were capable of, I was hooked. Multiple marathons later I’ve met some of the most wonderful people and formed some of my most cherished friendships because of running.

That’s what this blog is all about. Running, yes…but also the sense of community running brings.
